Sniper.....latest call...one you never want to have!
I just received a call from Sniper. He asked me if I had been watching the news or can hear a difference in his voice......No, What the fuck happened? Sniper was hurt in from an IED explosion while he was on foot patrol on Saturday, February 11th. He is okay. He has several stitches on his calf (internally & externally). He is staying with his unit. The other Marine that was with him, is being sent home. They didn't think he would make it, but so far so good. The other Marine, was getting ready to return home from this deployment next week. Sniper has already ran another mission today. He will be staying, but they have already put in for a Purple Heart for him. I don't want him to have a Purple Heart.....I want him safe and sound! How am I handling? Just what you would expect....I leave it at that. Please pray for him and his Marines. dyzgoneby |

Hey DGB:
I was "just " a Paratrooper- this Sniper Guy is a Marine. That is just like a cut while shavin', don't know why he'll even pickup his Purple Heart. Gyrenes is badasses, Gurl! Check yer e=mail fer one from me about this. While guys like Sniper are doing their good thing; Albore is in the Country that supplied 15 of the Sept. 11 hijackers, bad-mouthing the USA! The prickless jerk shouldn't be allowed back into the country with the sh*t he said. But in spite of this sort, Sniper and his guys are "Gittin' 'er Done"
DGB, Googleize "American Sniper", for a good site.

He told his CO he didn't want the Purple Heart either. However, they aren't listening to him.
He is every bit of Marine, when he told me he ran a Mission today, I just about shit. However, I do know he wouldn't have it any other way. He did say his leg is hurting him some...to us civilians..."IT HURTS LIKE HELL." But you won't hear him say that.
A call from your fella telling you that he was wounded is a far cry better than a call from some stranger....at least you know he's well enough to call home. I'm sure you must have freaked anyway, though. Whether you want to think about it or not, your Marine joined an elite group of people when he was wounded. My dad received a purple heart for wounds he received on Iwo Jima back in WWII, a proud Marine also. The purple heart chapter he belongs to, that he fondly refers to as the "purps," is full of some of the best guys I've ever met, and they take care of one another. I guess that part never changes...they are still brothers in arms decades later, even if they didn't actually fight together. Hang in there!!
