    Name: dyzgoneby
    Location: California, United States

I am married to a wonderful Marine and a mother of 5 darling children. Sniper has been home from his second tour in the Shitbox since July 2006. This will be my rants, raves and rumblings with my life with him as a Marine Wife, him dealing with life post Iraq and the Marine Corps next adventure for us. At times I may whine, I may cry and there maybe times I just don't make any sense and you think WTF. These are my feelings and my feelings alone. If you don't like what I have to say, click the "X" in the right corner and move on. Thank a vet for having that choice. If not, sit back and enjoy the peak into my crazy world.

Providing the Blanket of Freedom. Freedom is NOT FREE!

I talked it over with Sniper and we have decided to have me post the video he made awhile back after he was wounded. (If any of you can help this blogger out on how to copy it off of myspace, I sure would appreciate it.)

Click the Title or Click here.

You may be wondering why I would post something like this? Especially since this is something very personal to us.

I am not posting this as something to brag about what "Sniper" has done. There is no atta boy coming from me. Quit frankly he is just doing his job, protecting the American people and helping the Iraqi's get there chance at freedom.

The only thing you will hear from me is "Thank God it wasn't his time and someone was looking out for him." I am doing this for you to understand a little of this world I/we live in. I am doing this because:

Many Americans will never understand that Freedom truly isn't free and how many sacrifices are made for our freedom.

Many Americans will never understand what it is like in a combat zone.

Many Americans will never understand what it is like to have your loved one call home to let you know they were wounded (twice).

Many Americans will never understand what it is like to see your loved one off, only to see them return home a completely different person than when they left. The innocence is gone.

Many Americans will never understand what it is like to have a loved one make that ultimate sacrifice and the families left behind trying to pick up the pieces.

"For those who protect it, Freedom has a taste that the protected will NEVER know."

*To my knowledge, IceMan is still in a coma from the IED blast. My prayers are still with him, his family and Sniper.

    Dyzgoneby,
Sniper, thank you from the bottom of my heart on so many different levels. I will love you forever and a day, see ya in our dreams.

OH goodness that was good. I am hoping that his homecoming is soon for the sake of you guys. I know what it is like sitting and waiting. I wish you guys the best 4th. My prayers are with them all.

Although the video is hard on all of us it is so worth letting other people see. The boys have shared the video with friends and other family members because they are so proud of Sniper. It goes back to the no matter what I will always come home.

Out Fu#$*ing standing! FYI if you make it back over to "Lift With Caution" check his post called Once a Marine always a Marine. He lays down some good words about my dad, a personal friend of Chesty Puller.

You know what I just watched it again. My first comment was out of line, sorry about that. You tell that Devil Dog for me "Thank You" Thats not just some pretty purple medal on his uniform. That means something! That means you put you ass on the line and almost gave it all up.

As much as all good Marines love to be in the shit, I pray for a safe return for all our men.
    God Bless Them!!!!!

Man, I see what you mean by watching the video where he was wounded...it had to be tough...thank goodness he's okay. I will pray for Iceman also, and continue to pray for all of our troops that are in the danger area. God bless them all!!!

    Blogger dyzgoneby said ... (7:42 PM) :

christy....Thank you for all your encouraging words. I will have lots of pics and stories to share about homecoming.

Heather....I just finally showed both my munchkins the video. I had to cover-up a few parts, but they were ok with that (hear that Sniper, they are ok). Sniper has a lot to be proud of.

uncle jim....Hopefully you just told him. I am slowly directing him to where to find everything on my blog. He has actually read a few posts and seen some pics. I am just trying to get him to see comments and be able to comment as well.

No need to apologize on the first comment. All those caches of weapons, that was just one day. They have made a big name for themselves with what they have accomplished in the amount of time he is there.

We all can sleep peacefully tonight knowing we have men like him (and you) standing ready for us.

kbug....The first 10+ times was hard. Don't get me wrong, I still can't watch it without crying, but at least now I pick pieces of the pics apart. I try to decipher what he was doing or just stare at the face I so long to hold. I pray for all of them a safe return.

damn.... that video.... And the song was absolutely perfect. I know you've posted the lyrics before, which makes it just that much more personal. I can't believe Iceman is still in a coma. The shots of his injuries being cleaned and stitched tears at my heart. And the weapons cache.. in one day? Damn. Just... Damn.

Is it ok for me to link the video on my site? Or at The Castle Argghhh?

    Blogger dyzgoneby said ... (7:33 AM) :

AF....The music/song is what sends me over the top everytime I see it. As far as my understanding, the cache was just one's days worth of work. Go ahead and link the video.

    Blogger AFSister said ... (9:02 AM) :

Links are up, Dyz. Thanks for sharing the video. Freedom is definately not free.

    Blogger dyzgoneby said ... (9:48 AM) :

    Thank you AF!

Good job! Thanks for sharing this.

You tell YOUR Marine that there are whole bunches of us who thank him for taking one for the team.

And you hang in there as well... There's no harder job than to be the "other half" of a war-fighter, and we're rooting for you and your teammates just as hard as we're rooting for him and his teammates...

And good, warm, fuzzy thoughts for Iceman to Sky Six...

    Semper Fi!

Sgt. B...Thank you, I will pass the message on.

Hooah! Okay I guess that should be Urah, but wow either way. Sorry but I am just now able to get to DSL to be able to watch. It hurts to see people get hurt period. I pray for Iceman and his recovery.
