Sick Kid Part 3, 4, 5....I Give Up!!!!
Lego Man has now been sick for almost 2 weeks. He keeps urping (burp with throwing up). Last week I finally took him into to have some blood tests run.....I love this kid. He is so good when it comes to taking blood tests. He just holds out his arm and sits there, thinking this is cool. Now Jedi, his dad, goes with him or when he has his own blood test, he has to have Lego Man hold his hand, so he doesn't pass out, Jedi that is. My son is more of a man when it comes to this, then his dad. Lego man thinks this is hilarious....sidetracked here.....They doctor's were unsure of what could be causing this. My son is Bi-Polar. Docs are still also thinking he has Asperger's (mild form of Autism). Let's just say my house is never boring, full of life with him and very chaiotic. He has been on medication for the last 8 years. Two years ago, one of the med's he was one, started to cause some liver damage (not good). Needless to say we changed his med's. Fast forward. The doc's thought that again his med's might be causing him to be sick or a bacterial infection in his stomach. The tests came in today and it is definately not his med's. Yeah!!!!! That really is a good thing. What is it? Doc's not sure. His Hemogloban is high, the bacterial infection (H polari) is high and we now are awaiting for the doc to call us back. My son has lost 5 pounds in the last few weeks and this is also not good. He was already under weight before this even starts. Hopefully, we will here something soon. I feel really bad for him. I was a bad mom today and made him go back to school. He has only been to school, since winter break, for 2 1/2 days. He has missed so much. Not considering mom has only worked 3 1/2 days since before New Year's. Today, I will only work a 1/2 day again. God, I love my children, but life needs to get back on track. I sure hope this isn't what I have to look forward to this year. Along those lines, I am leaving town for the next few days, something came up. I hopefully will be back to work by Friday. I hope. That mean's I won't be around a computer at all. I am going to go into major withdrawals. I don't know how I can live without my computer. Way too addictted. Expect a great (rollercoaster ride) post on the rest of what is going on with my little ol' world hopefully by this Friday. Until then, take care. dyzgoneby |

Hello Lady, how ya doin'? H. pylori, is REAL, but because of this reality, it is very easily cured. I had "ulcers", same life as yer son, for 30 years! How damned dumb! Doctors kept "treating" my ulcers. I kept hurting, for 30 years! Finally, in the VA System- I got cured, cured for life! And it's easy. I know now just what your doctor will or should prescribe. Not by brand, but this: An antibiotic, very basic, but directed at the H. Pylori, (which actually is Helicopacter Pylori.) germ. He will, most likely also suggest or prescribe a medicine to hold off the pain until the cure is there.
From my experience, as my doc suggested- Do Not deviate from the treatment, after several days it my severly de-hydrate your son, don't stop, just push fluids, barring sugar problems, sports drinks help, but mostly water, water, water. Especially with a possible liver thing. I rode an ambulance to the ICU- they didn't stop in ER. All because I was treating an "Ulcer". My single comment- You done good, girl! This is a big thing, that is very simply cured. Your doc will tell you all the above, but to a Mom, from an 'ol dad, this is easy. There's a ton of things worse than H.Pylori! They aren't as easily found.

I hope that baby is much better soon. I am sure you are taking wonderful care of him but hey mom don't forget about yourself. HOpe your trip turns out to be one of great ventures.
I just read your blog. Very good read. You have nothing to be ashamed of. We all make mistakes. It is just a part of learning, no matter what your age is.
You stated: My son is Bi-Polar. Docs are still also thinking he has Asperger's (mild form of Autism).
My son is 20 and is bi-polar and has Aspergers Syndrome. Get him diagnosed early. There are more programs open to them before they turn 18 than after they turn 18.
There's a great book to read on Asperger:
Asperger Syndrome & Your Child
A parents Guide
by Michael D. Powers with Janet Poland
Hope it helps if he has it.
Take care and if you want to chat, I'm here.
