    My Photo
    Name: dyzgoneby
    Location: California, United States

I am married to a wonderful Marine and a mother of 5 darling children. Sniper has been home from his second tour in the Shitbox since July 2006. This will be my rants, raves and rumblings with my life with him as a Marine Wife, him dealing with life post Iraq and the Marine Corps next adventure for us. At times I may whine, I may cry and there maybe times I just don't make any sense and you think WTF. These are my feelings and my feelings alone. If you don't like what I have to say, click the "X" in the right corner and move on. Thank a vet for having that choice. If not, sit back and enjoy the peak into my crazy world.

    Another Update

No more excuses.....I just suck at blogging. I have been thinking about it, just no time. Nothing new there. I want to thank everyone for the condolences and wishes over the last couple of weeks. March was a long month for me and us.

Sniper has been home the last two weeks recovering from surgery. Yes, he finally after 9 months (WIA in May 2006) he had surgery on his shoulder. It's been a long time coming. Way too long if you ask me.

I wasn't there for his surgery and had to wait 2 very long days to see him afterwards. I couldn't take the time off of work (long story, but I would have lost my job).

The first week he stayed in bed most of the time and I took care of him. He hasn't done a whole lot, but rest. Good.

He had a half of inch removed off of his clavicle and a bunch of arthritis cleaned out. He has a four inch incision on the top of his shoulder. The scar and stitches look like someone was drunk when the sewed him up. Drama Queen could have done a better job. He has to wear a sling on his arm for a few weeks and keep it immobilized.

The nerve damage to his fingers is still there (no feeling) and only time will heal that, if ever.

The healing process will take a long time and still no guarantees that it will do anything for him. My opinion, it won't change anything. We foresee in the coming months he will be medically retired.

His shoulder isn't the only reason for him being Medically Retired. I will discuss more at a later time, but the PTSD he has plays into this as well. I have talked about over the last several months, but it hasn't gotten any better. We have both learned how to deal with it and only time will diminish the demons he harbors.

It sucks ass to see he has only 4 years and 10 months to go until retirement. But as he told me, he has given everything for this Country, his Country, our Country and it is time to move on and let another Marine step in.

As for what ever one is wondering and waiting for, we have 2 weeks from today to go and I will be MRS. SNIPER.

    I AM SO EXCITED!!!!

    The Plan.....

Thursday, April 19th, Bubba and I are flying down to Southern Cali. We will be meeting up at the airport with Sniper, Dudder and Roo. This will be the first time I have meet Sniper's other two boys. I am excited and nervous.

Friday, Sniper, the three boys and I will spend the morning on base. From there we will run around like crazy doing the last minute stuff for the wedding. That afternoon, Sniper and I will part are ways until the wedding.

    Saturday, the wedding.

Sunday, the seven of us (our 5 kids, him and I) will spend the day together as a family. We are planning on taking everyone to the San Diego Zoo and if time permits, showing our kids around Camp Pendleton.

Monday, spending another day running around base. We will be making it legal in the system, me as Sniper's wife. The only exciting part is getting the Military ID for me.

Tuesday, road trip. All seven of us in a car headed back to Northern Cali.....HOME. I don't know how much fun that can be, but we will make the best of it.

The rest of the week will just be enjoying the "Family Life" together. It will be the first time all of us have been under one roof.

Sniper and I decided months ago we wanted our first week together, instead of a honeymoon for the two of us, to be about "our" family.

14 days, 4 hours and 3 minutes to go until Sniper and I are "one" and I will be Mrs. Sniper.

Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference. The Marines do not have that problem. President Ronald Reagan
