    Name: dyzgoneby
    Location: California, United States

I am married to a wonderful Marine and a mother of 5 darling children. Sniper has been home from his second tour in the Shitbox since July 2006. This will be my rants, raves and rumblings with my life with him as a Marine Wife, him dealing with life post Iraq and the Marine Corps next adventure for us. At times I may whine, I may cry and there maybe times I just don't make any sense and you think WTF. These are my feelings and my feelings alone. If you don't like what I have to say, click the "X" in the right corner and move on. Thank a vet for having that choice. If not, sit back and enjoy the peak into my crazy world.

I Need A Man Around Here...

I stole this title from Brad Paisley's song, "You Need A Man Around Here." It sums up our weekend so far.

Somehow, someway, Drama Queen and I broke one of our pipes in the irrigation system in one of our flowerbeds. Right smack in the middle. When did we notice it? As I was trying to figure out why my sprinkler system wasn't working right. I went out front and this is what I saw.

Can you see the huge hole in the middle of what I just planted? Can you see all the dirt now on my lawn? My little plants just floated away. Great, now I get to dig up what is left again and try and figure you how to plug/fix the broken pipe. I am not sure which one of us did this, but now it needs to be fixed. I need someone else to help. I just have to figure out whom. And trust me you don't want the two of us anywhere near your yard.

As I went back to turn this section off, the rest of the sprinklers now won't work. WTF. I am not sure how to make it work. Sniper was the one who helped program it for me last year. Somehow a few months ago, the box was unplugged and now I am trying to reprogram it. Uuggghhh. I can't figure the damn thing out. No wonder my yard is dying.

You love my darling little girl. I hope she enjoys the pic of her I am posting. Smart ass.... The pic sitting on the fence, that really needs to be painted and no time to do it, is of her pony that was sold this last year. She decided to make our flower bed a memorial to her.... Mind you she's not dead, the pony or my kid. My neighbor's probably think we are so white trash. Not really, they all know I am on my own, Sniper is in the Shitbox and I am studying for the summer. Thank God they are super supportive and understanding.

Yep, I need a man around here (No, Sniper, I am not looking for one) to help fix everything I break......

This is the list so far:

    Broken Pipe in the Flowerbed
Broken sprinklerheads (3) in the lawn. No, Bubba & I haven't fixed them yet.
Bathroom light that won't work. Yes, I have already tried replacing the bulb. Do you think I am that much of an airhead?
Hole in my bedroom door. Yes, I have a temper too & you don't want to know what set it off.

Sniper, I promise I will have the list completed before you come home, maybe.

I love the picture...especially the flags in the yard. I love to see that other people fly their flags all the time, too..... :)

    Blogger dyzgoneby said ... (8:37 AM) :

Thanks kbug, the only time the flags come down is when it is raining. It's sad, but I am the only one on our Court who flies them.

Hey girl would you stop tearing things up there. Sniper is going to get you very much for tearing so much shit up and not getting it fixed. Did you try the breaker for that bathroom?

I love you girl. Take care. Just getting around to checking these sites. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

The bathroom light is fluorescent. It comes on, just very little light. I think the whole thing needs to be replaced. I am just not handy to do that. I could try, but we see what I did to my yard. LOL

Just taking a 10 minute break, off to study some more.

    I hear ya!
Being a woman homeowner who is used to having a handyman around is a real BITCH. Add in the vertigo problems I've been having, and little things turn into big ones. I got lucky, and a blog commenting friend who lives about 3 hours from me offered to spend the weekend working on my house for me. He said "It sounds like you need to be able to tell someone 'make this go away'"... and he did! OMG.... what a wonderful person. Hopefully a guy friend of yours will make you the same offer.

I'm glad to hear that you are studying and quiting smoking. Good luck with both! I've never quite smoking, but I have studied my ass off for those damn NASD tests (6, 7, 63, 65 and life/health) GRRRRRR The thing is, with the 7 and 65, I don't need my 6 or 63, but the companies I worked for at the time wanted me to take the other ones instead. I sure wish I could have just taken the the 7 and 65 instead of all 4. Hopefully, they're letting you take the 7 and 65. If you have the choice, or the opportunity to bring it up, DO IT. The 7 adds individual securities to the 6's mutual funds, and the 65 includes the Blue Sky laws *and* investment advisor.

Tell Sniper he's an awesome Marine and knows what's important- his safety and the safety of his men. His healing will help make that happen.

Cheer up. You are aware, I'm sure, that it could be worse?! I would make some suggestions, but then again, I wouldn't know what I was talking about. It's best if I just leave this one alone. lol.

Hey, it will al be there when Sniper gets home.

The pictures are great. Let the yard wait until Sniper gets home, we all know he is good at that stuff. I am glad that you and the kids had a good weekend. We did alot of cleaning and yard work too. Our sprinkler system is now broke also. Talk to you soon.

    Blogger dyzgoneby said ... (5:26 PM) :

Afsister....I need someone close by to help.

Actually my ex hubby is probably going to redo my sprinkler's for us. Since he is jobless, he decided to open his own landscaping business & what better way then to fix what his daughter (eah right) broke. He-he-he

rosemary....thank you. you are welcome to give your 2 cents in her any ol' time, even if we (yes me to) doesn't make sense.

military mom....that's kinda the way I am thinking. Sniper can fix it.

heather....who broke your sprinkler system? I swear I wasn't anywhere near it...

    Blogger dyzgoneby said ... (7:30 PM) :

AFsister.....I forgot, I am only taking my Series 7 & 66, L&H (Life & Health), CA LTC, and some damn IPO thing now too. I can't wait for the 7 to be over. This thing is a huge bitch.

I will never, ever let my licenses go after this.......

    Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:16 PM) :

I know it was you!! J/K I thinkthe hubby broke it while moving trees out of the flower bed. I am not sure that he will be able t fix it. Might have to wait until Sniper gets back in the states and he can fix mine too!
